<p>A novel process for producing an optically active (4R)-1,3-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid which comprises treating a mixture of (4R)- and (4S)-1,3-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid amides with optionally treated microbial cells having an activity of selectively hydrolyzing the optically active (4R)-1,3-thiazolidine-carboxylic acid amide to thereby form (4R)-1,3-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid and then separating the same.</p> |
