rocket engines. SUBSTANCE: two-mode nozzle unit for rocket engine includes engine body, combustion chamber, main nozzle and central movable valve. Nozzle unit is provided with immovable intermediate insert with holes located radially and in parallel with rocket axis, nozzle inserts and struts for securing immovable intermediate insert. Central movable valve is made in form of cylindrical stepped body having holes which form additional nozzle. Inner diameters of inserts define nozzle throat section at launch and cruise modes of engine operation. Motion of central movable valve is effected due to difference in pressures in valve cavity and in inner cavity of engine. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of autonomous, adaptable and compact unit for control of rocket engine thrust. 2 dwg |
