organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method of synthesis of indole-3-carboxylic acid 8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3,2,1] oct-3-yl ester. Its hydrochloride as a component of tropisteron and used as an antivomiting agent in vomiting caused by antitumor preparations in chemotherapy. Invention describes a method of synthesis of indole-3-carboxylic acid 8-methyl- 8-azabicyclo-[3,2,1]oct-3-yl ester by interaction of N-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3,2,1]-octane-3-ol with indole derivative. 3-Trichloroacetylindole is used a derivative of indole. Reaction mixture is boiled in medium of oxygen-containing solvents in the presence of trace amount of alkali and the end product is isolated by the known method. Proposed method excludes the use of fire and explosive hazard butyl lithium without difficulty treatment of the end product and the parent useful compound is available.
