A fermentation vessel for agricultural wastes, is new. A fermentation vessel is surrounded by heating pipes in insulation. An intermediate perforated cover separates gas- and fermentation chambers. Below the cover, a biofilter de-sulfurizes gas produced. In the dry composting fermenter, the substrate lies above the floating base. Substrate and residues can be supplied to the lower storage section via the floating base. Flotation promotes self-cleaning. A separator divides solids from the substrate suspension, improving flowability and handling of the latter. Solids are recycled to the process, accelerating composting. Vertical service columns are employed. Like pipes, they remove gas and supply animal waste for spraying onto fresh substrate. A pressure line supplies the substrate. A suction line removes liquid waste to the separator. A suction line of the cleaning screw is flange-connected directly from the exterior.
