PURPOSE: A low-speed regenerative apparatus of a DVCR is provided to naturally display data digitally-stored in a tape in a low-speed playback mode, thereby displaying a natural screen without deteriorating the data in the low-speed playback mode. CONSTITUTION: A head(1) reproduces digital data according to a control signal of a micro computer(4). A pre amplifier(2) amplifies the reproduced data. A digital reproduction processor(3) inputs an amplification signal to separate color/luminous signals from horizontal/vertical synchronous signals, and processes the separated signals, then outputs R/G/B signals. A low-speed mode decision processor(100) decides a normal mode or a low-speed mode, and processes the R/G/B signals. A data memory processor(200) inputs the R/G/B signals to store the signals in a memory, and constantly outputs the stored R/G/B signals at a low speed, then inputs the R/G/B signals from the digital reproduction processor to store the signals in the memory. A display(5) displays the R/G/B signals inputted through the low-speed mode decision processor or the data memory processor. The micro computer controls each block.
