PURPOSE: A method for certifying and providing an EC(Electric Commerce) service is provided to secure the convenience of a mobile terminal and the reliability of the EC by verifying the accuracy of the member information through a reliable database of a mobile communication provider and carrying out a certification procedure on the basis of the reliable database. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of judging the existence of a certification request for the EC service together with the user profile information including a number of the mobile terminal(S201), verifying the user profile information based on the previously stored mobile communication subscriber information for the mobile communication service(S202), and transmitting a response for the EC approval to an EC server through the mobile terminal according to the verification result(S204). When the approval response is transmitted, the certification key information is also transmitted to the EC server and mobile terminal(S205,S207). The certification key is transmitted to the mobile terminal by using a short message service.
