PURPOSE: Provided are a water-resistance improver for ink of an ink-jet printer and the ink of the ink-jet printer containing the water-resistance improver, which is excellent in the water-resistance and the quality of print. CONSTITUTION: The water-resistance improver is produced by melting a rosin and then reacting the rosin with glycol in the equivalent molar ratio in the presence of an acid catalyst at the melting temperature of the rosin to 250deg.C, wherein the acid catalyst is selected from inorganic acids such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and phosphoric acid and the rosin is selected from gum rosin, wood rosin, deoiled rosin, modified hydrogen-added rosin, polymerized rosin, rosin ester, and cured rosin. And the ink of the ink-jet printer contains 0.01-10wt% of the water-resistance improver. |
