PURPOSE: A parking brake system having an emergency air tank is provided to prevent wrong operation from air leakage in the parking brake system by supplying air in an emergency, and to improve reliability and convenience by restricting sudden braking. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake system is composed of a front air tank(1); a rear air tank(2); a double check valve(3) supplying air from the front air tank and the rear air tank selectively; a spring chamber(6); a first air line(11) connecting the spring chamber to the double check valve; a kick release valve(5) arranged in the first air line between the spring chamber and the double check valve; an emergency air tank(7) storing air; a second air line(12) connecting the emergency tank to the first air line; a pressure detecting switch(10) installed between the connection point of first and second air lines and the double check valve to detect pressure of air from front and rear air tanks; a solenoid valve(8) installed in the second air line, and connected to the pressure detecting switch electrically; and a check valve(9) installed between the pressure detecting switch and the connection point of first and second air lines.
