PURPOSE: A method for holding an answer in a mobile system is provided to delay a call with a caller by offering an answer holding function for an originating call when the line is busy. CONSTITUTION: If an originating call is generated, a mobile system asks the terminating MS(Mobile Station) through the terminating VLR what the terminating state is (S101). Then the system confirms whether the terminating state is an idle state(S102). If the terminating state is the idle state, the system receives calling subscriber information(S103) and activates an alerting timer(S104). Then the system confirms whether time is out(S105). If it is confirmed that time is out, the system executes no answer processing and informs the calling side of it(S106). Meanwhile, if a terminating answer is generated before time out, the system confirms whether the terminating answer is a direct call state or an answer holding state(S107). If the terminating answer is "*CODE+SEND"(S112), the system informs the VLR that the terminating MS is in the answer holding state(S113) and activates a timer to check an answer holding time(S114). Then the system sends an announcement to inform the calling side that the terminating MS is in the answer holding state(S115). |
