PURPOSE: A reverse direction proxy server and a method for providing a web service using the same are provided to enable one processor to process the service for several users by giving a plurality of threads to one process and applying an event based processing mode by each thread, and to offer the web service to the clients more fast by being configured together with a web server. CONSTITUTION: The reverse direction proxy server comprises a cache memory(220) allocating to an area of a memory and storing the frequently used service contents provided by the web server(50), a plurality of main service processors(210) respectively receiving a service request message occurred to the clients(20) and providing the service contents to each client by extracting the service contents corresponding to the service request message from the cache memory, and a subsidiary service processor(230) providing the service contents not stored in the cache memory to the clients by receiving the service contents from the web server. A main controller(240) manages the time information and controls the operation of the cache memory and the main and subsidiary service processor.
