PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for adjusting stroke of a portable iron rod bending machine are provided to continuously bend the iron rod set to an arbitrary angle and easily bend the exposed end part of the iron rod using the portable iron rod bending machine in the state that concrete is already poured. CONSTITUTION: In an ordinary hydraulic pressure generator comprising a centrifugal plunger pump(4) which is consisted of an amateur set(2) and a cam shaft(3) and installed at the inner part of one side of a housing(1), and a piston(6) which is elastically installed by a spring(7) at a cylinder block(5) in front of the centrifugal plunger pump(4) so that a fluid storage chamber(8), a high pressure pump chamber(9) and a high pressure furnace(10) reciprocating the piston(6) by operation of the centrifugal plunger pump(4) are installed, the apparatus for adjusting stroke of a portable iron rod bending machine comprises a cylinder chamber(12) and a spring chamber(13) which are divided by a ring part(11) of the piston(6); a rod shaped return valve(15) at which a spring is elastically installed, and which is connected to the ring part(11); a stroke adjusting rod(16) which is coaxially positioned to the return valve(15) with the stroke adjusting rod(16) be spaced apart from the return valve(15) in a certain distance; a scale ruler(17) which is connected to one end of the stroke adjusting rod(16) and slid on the surface of the housing(1); a rack rod(18) inserted into the end part of the piston(6); and a pinion shaft(25) which is in gear with the rack rod(18) so that one end of the pinion shaft(25) is exposed to the outside, wherein a central shaft is connected to the pinion shaft(25), a rotation arm is connected to the central shaft, a rotation shaft is inserted into the other side of the rotation arm, and a projecting support part is formed on the housing(1) at the side part of the rotation shaft.
