PURPOSE: A speed limit system of a vehicle is provided to improve steering stability, and to prevent accidents by regulating the maximum speed corresponding to the steering angle with operating the optimal value of centrifugal force and tread friction during traveling on the curve road. CONSTITUTION: A speed limit system for a vehicle is composed of a vehicle speed sensor(2) detecting travel speed of the vehicle; a steering position sensor(4) detecting the rotational angle of a steering wheel, and radius of rotation of the vehicle; a vehicle speed control unit regulating speed of the vehicle during traveling; an electronic control unit(6) controlling speed of the vehicle according to signals from sensors in turning the vehicle; and a warning lamp(8) outputting an alarming message to a driver according to the signal from the electronic control unit. The electronic control unit decides the limit speed within the radius of rotation, and decelerates the vehicle in case of speed to be over the limit speed. Accidents are prevented with improving steering stability in turning the vehicle on the curve road.
