NEW COMPOUND SEPARATED FROM ULMACEAE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE: A process of preparing an Ulmaceae compound by extracting Ulmus davidiana Planch as a kind of an elm tree is provided. Whereby, 10 kinds of new sesquiterpene quinone compounds having anticancer activity, antimicrobial activity, antiinflammatory activity and lipoperoxidation inhibitory activity are obtained. CONSTITUTION: Stalk, root, bark or leaves of Ulmus davidiana Planch is extracted, fractionated using n-hexane or chloroform and purified. The Ulmus davidiana Planch extract is used for the treatment of gastritis or stomach cancer. A health food composition contains any one of sesquiterpene quinone compounds as an effective component.
