摘要 A system for cooling a hybrid electric vehicle, in which the system components comprise an internal combustion engine 64, an electric drive motor 66 and a converter 68. These components are incorporated in a coolant-filled network of looped pipes which also comprises radiators 54, 56, a fan 58, pumps 60, 62, an air conditioner condenser 52 and a controller 50. The pumps generate the flow of a coolant through the pipe network cooling the desired systems components. The coolant is monitored by temperature sensors that send data to the controller where the data is analysed and then the fan speed is accordingly controlled. This controlled fan speed will aid the cooling of the coolant passing through the radiators in order to obtain a predetermined temperature threshold. Preferably, the sensor data may comprise an air conditioner head pressure, actual component temperature, inverter temperature, cylinder head temperature, DC/DC converter temperature and oil temperature.
