PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of judging a photographing direction precisely with respect to various photographing sites in a wide range from a head to the bones of extremities by using information on the external shape, bones, or the like, of a patient with respect to a radiographic image. SOLUTION: This device/method for judging the photographing direction comprises an external shape recognition means for detecting the amount of radiation transmitted through the patient and recognizing the external shape of a patient area extracted by a patient area extraction means for extracting the patient area in which the patient is photographed with respect to the radiographic image corresponding to the detected amount and a photographing direction judging means for judging the photographing direction of the patient from the external shape obtained by the external shape recognition means. Thus, the device/method can judge the photographing direction precisely with respect to the photographing sites in the wide range. |
