摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the rapid rising of temperature at the time of start of an engine by reducing the heat capacity of the heating part of an electric heating type catalyst device. SOLUTION: Composite foils are formed by alternately bonding metal insulating foils 182 having insulating layers on the surfaces thereof and raw foils 181 having no insulating layers on the surfaces thereof by interposing electric insulating layers between the foils 181 and 182 in the longitudinal direction of the foils and laminated to form a metal foil laminated and electrodes are connected to both ends in the laminating direction of the metal foil laminate to constitute the electric heating type catalyst device. Continuity bonded parts for mutually conductively bonding the insulating foils of the respective layers of the metal foil laminate in a continuity state are locally provided and electric insulating layers for insulating the whole of the raw foils from the electrodes are provided. By this constitution, the degree of freedom of the formation of the continuity bonded parts is increased while ensuring the bonding strength of the respective layers of the laminate.
