PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attachment for a machine tool allowing a reliable adjustment of the orientation of a cutter while kept mounted on a spindle of a machine tool. SOLUTION: A locking member 17 arranged in a rotary casing 10 is, when in a rotary position X, engaged with a rotary engaging and disengaging portion 19 of a rotary shaft 4, and when in a fixed position Y, engaged with a fixed engaging and disengaging portion 31a to 31c of a fixed casing 30. When the locking member 17 is moved to the rotary position X, the rotary casing 10 having the cutter 14 is rotatable along with the rotation of the rotary shaft 4.
