PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the image quality in a short time with high accuracy by predicting the reflectivity distribution of an image being outputted from an image recorder while reflecting the effect of intricate variation in the dot shape accurately. SOLUTION: The image quality predicting unit comprises means for holding the reflectivity distribution of an image outputted from an image recorder being evaluated while averaging the reflectivity distribution of a plurality of dots in data outputted from the image recorder being evaluated or a similar unit, means for holding positional shift of dots of an image outputted from the image recorder being evaluated determined based on the position of the center of gravity of a plurality of dots in data outputted from the image recorder being evaluated or a similar unit, and means for calculating the reflectivity distribution of an image outputted from the image recorder being evaluated based on inputted image data of an evaluation image. |
