PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently treat sludge at a low cost without charging unnecessary energy and to reduce excess sludge. SOLUTION: In a method for cleaning organic sewage by biological treatment, excess sludge generated from a biological treatment process is irradiated with microwaves to sterilize sludge bacteria and the irradiated excess sludge is returned to the biological treatment process to be digested by the microorganism group in the same process.
