The invention relates to a food storage container (15) with a lid and an opening mechanism for building up and reducing a vacuum in the conservation container. Said container can be closed in an airtight manner and can be emptied via a valve (1). The opening mechanism comprises an opening strap (7) for regulating the pressure between the surrounding atmosphere and inside the container (22). The invention is characterised in that a catch element (13, 19) is arranged between the handle area (10) and the bearing point (32) of the opening strap (7), enabling a sealing tongue (3) of a ventilation opening (4) on the lid (2) of the storage container (15) to be raised when the opening strap (7) is pulled upwards. Due to the lever effect, the opening of the food conservation container once the air is drawn out is facilitated and less force is required therefor. |
