PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a method for producing Amanatto (sweetened Adzuki beans) which is a traditional Japanese-style confection in Japan and a method for producing a new confectionery having a taste and an elegant texture suited to the modern preference utilizing a soft texture thereof. SOLUTION: This method for producing a chocolate-coated confectionery comprises a step of carrying out heating such as boiling, roasting or steaming of beans, grains, potatoes or vegetables and softening tissues, a step of dipping the heated materials in a solution containing a sweetener and sweetening the materials and a step of coating the sweetened materials with a chocolate. In the most preferred mode, a powder such as a cocoa powder or a powdered green tea can be smeared and applied onto the surface by reheating the materials, etc., after coating the materials with the chocolate to produce a new raw chocoloate-like confectionery suited to the modern preference.
