PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine that can smoothly transplant water-cultured seedlings without damage to these seedlings, when seedling mats are torn to small pieces and planted to round holes punched on growing panels. SOLUTION: This transplanting machine is equipped with a comb-formed seedling mat separator 19 that can fix the water-cultured seedlings in a mat form 14 without damage to the seedlings, a seedling block-fixing tool 21 that thrusts a seedling block W' almost at both edges of the front face with a couple of horizontal needles 24 and holding needles 34 of a seedling blocks-picking up tool 30 that fixed the seedling block by nipping the block at both sides of the block whereby the seedling blocks can be readily torn in combination with the sliding motion of an upper conveyer 7 in the cross direction. The levers 43 of a transplanting tool 40 for holding the seedling to be transplanted is made of a water-passing pipe so that the seedling blocks may be readily watered and may be readily transplanted to the round holes 13 on the growing panel 13. This machine is further equipped with a growing panel-supporting tool 46 that is slid with an air cylinder 44 on the base of a loading part 5 whereby the stacked growing panels are sent out one by one to a transplanting part 12.
