PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large capacity vertical ball mill constituted so as to be capable of easily performing operation such as the charging of each and sand into a mill pot, the taking-out of finely divided matter or the like while having treatment capacity far larger as compared with conventional technique. SOLUTION: The ball mill comprises a base frame 10 for supporting a center shaft 1 in a freely rotatable manner and the pot support frame 20 for supporting a mill pot 30. The pot support frame 20 consists of upper and lower tables 21 and 25 and a cartridge 61 is fixed to the upper table 21 in a freely detachable manner, and an upper radial bearing 62 and an upper sleeve 63 are inserted in the cartridge 61. A lower radial bearing 72 is attached to the lower table 25 and a lower sleeve 73 is inserted into the lower radial bearing 72 and the upper and lower rotating shafts of the mill pot 30 are inserted into the upper sleeve 63 and the lower sleeve 73 in an axial direction in a freely separable manner.
