A sorbent composition comprising a mixture of zinc oxide, silica, alumina and cobalt in the state of reduced valence is intended for the desulphurization of liquid flows of cracked gasoline or diesel fuels in the desulphurization area by a process which comprises contacting of such liquid flows in the desulphurization area followed by separation ofthe resulting low sulfur-containing flow and sulfonated sorbent and thereafter by regeneration and activation of separated sorbent prior of its return to the desulphurization area. |
