Composition for preserving feedstuffs (I) comprises: (A) 5-41 wt.% alkali and/or alkaline earth metal salt of benzoic acid; (B) 1-14 wt.% alkali/alkaline earth metal salt of a 1-3C carboxylic acid; (C) 10-<59 wt.% propionic acid; and (D) >30-<80 wt.% water. (A)-(D) total 100 wt.%, the amounts of (A) and (B) being calculated as Na salts and the amount of (C) measured as the pure acid . Also claimed is the production of (I) by mixing an aqueous solution of (A), (B) and (D) with concentrated (C).
