PURPOSE: A shock absorbing apparatus of a hood for a vehicle is provided to minimize the injury on a walker colliding against a vehicle by making a hood of a vehicle deformed or pressurized downward when the walker collides against the hood. CONSTITUTION: A shock sensing lever(10) is formed on the bottom face of an outer panel(2) of a hood. An operating plate(20) having a fixing protrusion(21) is installed at a side of the shock sensing lever. A rotating lever(31) combined with the inside of an inner panel(3) contacts to the bottom face of the shock sensing lever and the fixing protrusion. An unlocking lever(40) is combined with the shock sensing lever and the inside of the hood. A housing(50) is formed in an insertion hole(51) of the inner panel. A tensile spring(52) is installed in the housing. The tensile spring is connected with the operating plate. If a vehicle collides with a walker, the hood is pressurized downward by the shock. A rotating lever(30) and the unlocking lever are separated from the fixing protrusion. The operating plate is pulled by the repulsive force of the tensile spring. Thus, the outer panel is pulled down, and the middle portion of the outer panel is deformed downward.
