PURPOSE: A projection type vehicular bumper is provided to absorb impact energy secondarily with explosion gas of an inflater while delaying impact time by projecting a bumper in a certain length exactly before vehicular collision. CONSTITUTION: A projection type vehicular bumper includes a back beam(1) fixed to a chassis, the back beam being connected to a cylinder housing(2) whose piston rod(3) is connected with bumping material covered with a bumper face(4). In the back beam in installed an inflater(8) which is controlled by a controller(6) through a cable(7). Insides of the back beam and the cylinder housing are connected with each other through a gas hole(9). The piston rod is coupled with a piston(10). In front of the cylinder housing is formed a ventilation hole(12) to discharge inner air of the cylinder housing outside.
