PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting receiver for automatically switching a broadcasting station whose receiving state is deteriorated to the other broadcasting station whose receiving state is satisfactory. SOLUTION: A digital broadcasting receiver is provided with a tuner 1 for tuning a desired broadcasting station from among a plurality of broadcasting stations, a demodulating circuit 3 for demodulating a plurality of bit frames constituting the digital broadcasting of the tuned broadcasting station, and for outputting the demodulated result, and a control circuit 4 for controlling the operations of the tuner and the demodulating circuit. The control circuit 4 stops the demodulation of at least one bit frame among the plurality of bit frames in a state that one broadcasting station is turned, and retrieves the other broadcasting station whose receiving state is satisfactory by using a dead time generated according to this. Then, the control circuit 4 switches the broadcasting station whose receiving state is deteriorated to the other broadcasting station whose receiving state is satisfactory.
