PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network monitor system which reduces the adverse influence of a data communication for monitoring on the original communication between devices through a network. SOLUTION: The network monitor system 10 is equipped with a trunk network 98 where network devices A to E and a monitor server 100 are connected and a monitoring network 99 where the monitor server 100 and monitor terminals A, C, and E are connected not through a path common to the trunk network. The monitor server 100 sequentially obtains and holds device constitution data from the respective network devices and traffic data. Each monitor terminal obtains data that the monitor server 100 holds through the monitoring network and uses those data to perform the processing for determining the logical path of the trunk network and the processing regarding fault detection.
