PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material used for a medical image or for a photomechanical process and giving an image having a good color tone (close to a pure black tone). SOLUTION: In the heat developable photosensitive material containing at least one photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions and a binder on one face of a support, (a) at least one polyphenol compound of formula (I) is contained as the reducing agent, (b) at least one hindered phenol compound of formula (II) is contained and (c) the molar ratio of the compound of the formula (II) to the compound of the formula (I) is 0.001-0.2.
