PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight heat pipe having a desired strength and exhibiting excellent machinability in which water can be used as working liquid. SOLUTION: The heat pipe comprises two sheets of clad plate material made of at least two kinds of different material where each face forming the inner wall of a container having a cavity part is made of a member exhibiting excellent affinity to water, an outer circumferential part as the joint face of the two sheets of clad plate material forming the cavity part in airtight state, and a working liquid of water or principally comprising water being encapsulated in the cavity part.
