PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that can composite a stamp image segmented from a video recording file recorded on a disk with other video recording file. SOLUTION: A video camera records image data denoting a temporarily stopped image resulting from temporarily stopping reproduction to a disk 51 as stamp image data in a state that a desired track is reproduced from a video recording file recorded on the disk 51 and a track reproduction image is displayed, and updates management data of the disk 51 (S101-S108). Then the video camera applies composite editing to the stamp image data to composite the data with other video recording file recorded on the disk 51.
