The invention concerns a system for detecting failure of a cable in a tree-structure of cables comprising several nodes associated each with several cables and means for monitoring the cables of a node, implanted in each of said monitored nodes, for detecting a failure of at least one of said cables, said monitoring means being connected to first means (107) transmitting failure data to means managing (109) said data, said monitoring means comprising means (10; 140) indicating a failure of one or several cables detected at the node, connected to said first means (107) transmitting data via at least a switch toggling between a neutral position and a position indicating failure under the control of control means.
