CAPACITY CONTROL METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ENGINE DRIVEN COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacity control method and device for an engine-driven compressor, eliminating the possibility of suddenly decreasing a pressure in a receiver tank even when a great amount of high-pressure compressed air is consumed during idling operation and the possibility of excessively increasing the temperature of a cooling water for an engine and the temperature of a lubricating oil in a compressor body even after stopping the consumption of the compressed air. SOLUTION: An inlet of a pressure regulator 11 is communicated with the receiver tank 6 and a pressure receiving chamber in an unloader regulator 32 and a pressure receiving chamber in a speed regulator 21 are communicated with an exit of the pressure regulator. A circuit 25 communicating the exit of the pressure regulator 11 with the pressure receiving chamber for the speed regulator 21 is provided with a valve 26 for opening/closing it. The engine 5 is operated at a high speed independently of a pressure change in the receiver tank 6 by operating the valve 26 before starting the consumption of the compressed air in the receiver tank 6.
