PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input signal resolution improving device capable of improving the resolution of the input signals of various equipment. SOLUTION: An external signal (S) is converted into a digital signal input(1), and inputted to a reference value generating device 1 so that a reference value (S1) can be generated by changing a reference value according to the fluctuation of the external signal, and converted into an analog signal by a D/A converter 13. Then, a difference is calculated by an adder/subtracter 14, and multiplied by a gain (k) by a gain setter 15, and converted into a digital signal input (2) by an A/D converter 16. The input (2) is added to the reference value (S1), and inputted to a transient preventing device 2 so that any transient to be generated at the time of changing the reference value can be suppressed. Thus, it is possible to obtain a smooth input (3) with the conventionally similar resolution of the input (2), and to detect the absolute quantity.
