PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a valve having a load protection function. SOLUTION: In an output shaft related to driving of the valve inside a casing and the actuator for the valve provided with a motor rotating the output shaft in a direction wherein the valve is opening and closing via a reduction gear, a pair of compression type load sensors is provided for detecting a reaction force of rotational torque of the output shaft as a movement of a movable plate fixing the motor during valve opening and closing, the magnitude of a force compressing the sensors is converted into an electric signal, the electric signal is converted into the rotational torque of the output shaft, and when the value exceeds rated rotational torque of the valve, a current fed to the motor is cut off.
