摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device which has a normal high-speed recording operation carried out by determining an optimum recording power in spite of the occurrence of an OPC error relating to crude media while using a CAV system or ZCLV system capable of improving the recording speed as compared to the case of a CLV system. SOLUTION: When the OPC operation fails to end normally (N of S6) in the OPC operation (S4) for determining the optimum recording power, the OPC operation is repeated (S7, S4, S5) by lowering a line speed to normally end the operation (Y of S6), by which the optimum recording power is surely obtained even with the crude optical disk. The number of revolutions for CAV is kicked (S9) in accordance with the result thereof, by which normal shifting to the high-speed recording operation (S9 to S11) by the so-called CAV system at constant rotation speed is made possible.
