Gilding procedure uses layer of gold leaf applied to surface of article between two layers of epoxy resin

The procedure consists of preparing the surface of the article (1) to be gilded and applying a coat of quick-drying epoxy resin (2). The gold leaf (3) is applied to the resin coat before it has fully dried, and this is followed by another coat of quick-drying epoxy resin after the first coat has polymerized.
