PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a network device which can save a communication protocol in a specific column of a database. SOLUTION: The processing method tracks respective nodes of a network line by a packet. This method mainly constructs the database in a network switching device. Packet data in the second and higher layers of a broadcast packet, a multi-point broadcast packet, or unknown packet which is received by the network switching device, for example, a communication protocol like a transmission control message or an inter-network message can be stored in a specific column of the database. A manager of system information effectively monitors, controls, and tracks packet data from each node of a network on the basis of these messages.
