PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely retry recording or reproducing which utilizes the detected output of a sensor for detecting vibrations only when needed, with a disk driver provided with the sensor. SOLUTION: The optical pickup 10 itself is fitted with a vibration detecting sensor 31 for detecting the vibrations applied to the optical pickup so that the recording or reproducing by the optical pickup is retried when at least the prescribed vibration is detected by the vibration detecting sensor. As a result of adoption of such constitution, the vibration detecting sensor 31 on which the optical pickup is mounted directly detects the vibrations applied to the optical pickup holding an objective lens or the like for irradiation with a laser. So the occurrence of an off-track state under the vibration of the laser beam to be cast to the disk is nearly exactly judged based on the output of the sensor 31.
