PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the supply amount of concentrated liquid so that the concentration of toner particles in liquid developer may be kept within a proper range. SOLUTION: After replenishing amount P is set to a standard value (step 100), toner concentration is detected by a concentration sensor (step 102). When the toner concentration is equal to or above a specified value (a), it is corrected to decrease the replenishing amount (steps 104 and 108), and when the toner concentration is equal to or under a specified value (b), it is corrected to increase the replenishing amount (steps 106 and 110), whereby the replenishing amount is updated (step 112). Thus, the toner concentration in the liquid developer is kept within the proper range, and the supply amount of the concentrated liquid is set to a proper value in accordance with the inclination of the image area of a printing plate to be processed.
