PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive unit for controlling the zooming and focusing of a camera equipped with a zoom lens consisting of a zoom lens system having a changeover group. SOLUTION: In the camera mounted with a zoom lens having a plurality of movable variable power lens groups to change a focal distance, at least one variable power lens group has two sub groups, and one sub group is a changeover group which is a movable sub group movable in an optical axis direction in the relation with the other sub group. The camera is provided with a motor for zooming 46m which moves the plurality of variable power lens groups in a prescribed movable locus between a short focal distance end and a long focal distance end, and a focus motor 64m which moves the focus lens group (sub groups S1 and S2) in the changeover group to either of mutually different movable ends according to a wide mode and a tele focus mode in a zooming area at the side of a short focal distance from a short focal distance end to an intermediate focal distance, and a zooming area at the side of a long focal distance from the intermediate focal distance to the long focal distance end. |
