PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a rotor by easily adjusting the rotating balance of the rotor, simplify the structure of the rotor itself and acquire a space to the area corresponding to the internal side in the radial direction of the rotor, in an engine igniter comprising a rotor which rotates synchronously with rotation of the engine, an iron core fixed for disposing opposite to the outer circumference of the rotor, and a primary coil and a secondary coil coaxially wound to the iron core. SOLUTION: A permanent magnet 7A is mounted to the iron core 4A having at its external circumference a plurality of leg portions 8, 9, and 10, provided opposed to each other at the position keeping an interval in the circumferential direction at the rotor 1A; an inductor 2A forming a magnetic path for a magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnet 7A between a pair of leg portions 8, 9; 9, 10, which are adjacently provided in the circumferential direction of the rotor 1A, is fixed at the external circumference of the rotor 1A; and the primary coil 5 and the secondary coil 6 are wound to the iron core 4A thus enabling an ignition plug energized whenever the inductor 2A passes the leg portions 8, 9; 9, 10 forming the pairs.
