PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs by reducing a rubber solution quantity, secure sufficient sealing performance even when the bearing pressure of a bead part is low, favorably prevent deterioration of fastening torque due to a heat flow or heat deterioration of a rubber coat, provide superior workability and improve durability of a molding die. SOLUTION: This metal gasket 1 interposed between mating surfaces, fastened by bolts and sealing a space between the mating surfaces has the irregular bead part 5 formed by curvedly forming metal base materials 2 on front and back faces, respectively, and the rubber coat 7 formed by applying a rubber solution on the front and back faces, respectively, and then solidifying it by a drying process. As metal is used as the base material 2, thicknesses of the rubber coat 7 in bottom parts of recessed parts 12 and 13 of the bead part 5 are provided thicker than other portions, and bearing pressure is generated by utilizing elastic repulsion forces of the rubber coat 7 in the bottom parts of the recessed parts 12 and 13 when fastening by the bolts.
