PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refuse dryer in which refuse can be dried sufficiently while enhancing the drying efficiency by increasing the detention time of refuse. SOLUTION: The refuse dryer is arranged such that refuse thrown into the inner cylinder 2 is dried directly by hot air introduced into the inner cylinder 2 while being stirred by a stirring member 6 and dried indirectly by temperature raised air introduced into the outer cylinder 3. The axis of the inner cylinder 2 and the stirring axis 61 of the stirring member 6 are arranged while inclining downward at specified inclination angles toward the refuse outlet side 2b wherein the inclination angleθ2 of the stirring axis 61 is set smaller than the inclination angleθ1 of the axis of the inner cylinder 2. At the inner circumferential edge part of the inner cylinder 2 on the refuse outlet side 2b, a doughnut type notched dam member 71 is provided discontinuously. On the outer circumferential surface of the outer cylinder 3, annular fins are arranged in the axial direction at a specified interval.
