PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film positioning device that can accurately position a film to a prescribed position. SOLUTION: The film positioning device of this invention controls a drive means feeding a movie film 4 to feed frames of the movie film 4 up to near the prescribed position in the case that the movie film 4 is fed in the length direction to position the frame of the movie film 4 at the predetermined prescribed position, detects the film position of the frame at that time, calculates a position offset between the film position and the prescribed position, and controls the drive means until the position offset is eliminated to feed the movie film 4 thereby positioning the frame at the prescribed position.
