PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for emphasizing and displaying the geographical position of a place referred to in a web page on a paper map. SOLUTION: The system and method are disclosed which generate one and more hyperlink to a physical document in an electronic document and find one and more items referred to in the electronic document in the physical document from a user system. The user system is connected to an opto-touch foil arranged on or under the physical document. This method includes a step for defining the item referred to in the electronic document, a step for determining the absolute coordinates of each item referred to in the electronic document, a step for defining a hyperlink to the physical document, and a step for encoding the absolute coordinates in the hyperlink.
