PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission mechanism with an HMT capable of securely preventing unintended power transmission. SOLUTION: The power transmission mechanism comprises a static hydraulic continuously variable transmission for shifting the rotation driving force from a drive source without stages and outputting the rotation driving force, a planetary gear device, a brake device inserted into a transmission route from the planetary gear device to the drive wheel, and a release mechanism. The planetary gear device has three elements: a sun gear, a planetary carrier and an inner toothed gear 3. The planetary gear device is structured so that the outer from the static hydraulic continuously variable transmission can be inputted to the first element among the three elements and that the gearshift driving force can be taken out of the second element among the three elements. The release mechanism releases at least either the first element or the remaining third element of the planetary gear device to be in the free state.
