PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material which ensures few scratch marks and few black spots and is excellent also in dryability even in rapid processing and to provide a processing method for the sensitive material excellent in environmental suitability. SOLUTION: In the silver halide photographic sensitive material, a silver halide emulsion layer or a non-photosensitive emulsion layer contains particles of a water-insoluble compound and the mass ratio of the water-soluble compound to all gelatin in the sensitive material is 0.01-0.5.
