PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescent element, which is excellent in luminescent brightness and luminous efficiency, durability, has low manufacturing cost, can be made in a large screen, and so can be effectively utilized as surface light source such as full-color display, backlight, illumination light source or the like, and a light source array or the like such as a printer, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The luminescent element forms a luminescent laminated layer by film-forming with a transparent electrode, one or more organic compound layers including a luminescent layer containing phosphorescent compound and a back electrode on a substrate, and on the luminescent laminated layer, a sealing member is fitted to get an organic compound layer shut off from outside air, of which, a process of filming a luminescent layer, a process of filming a back electrode, and a process of fitting a sealing member are carried out under an atmosphere with both oxygen concentration and vapor concentration of 100 ppm or less. |
